B Dahlia has worked in music, film, and event production & promotion for over three decades.  He officially launched B Dahlia Presents in 2013, looking to build successful relationships between artists, festivals and venues, sponsors, and licensors. Seeking to nurture a burgeoning experimental, cross-genre, creative music community, his Seattle-based efforts assisted developing and established artists with booking, promotion, and production support.  Past clients include: Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame multi-instrumentalist/composer/producer Amy Denio; groundbreaking cross-over Italian sextet OU; bi-coastal multi-instrumentalist/composer/teaching artist Jessica Lurie and the Lurie/Livingston/Fanning power trio Living Daylights; The Tiptons Sax Quartet w/Drums, featuring both Denio and Lurie alongside longtime cohorts Sue Orfield and Tina Richerson; songwriting sensation Madeline Tasquin; brass/percussion/FX duo Syrinx Effect: Seattle’s jambalaya brass-rock sensation TUBALUBA; drummer and creative fountain oLLi Klomp and the NW funk sensation West Seattle Soul featuring The Pulsations, and the current incarnation of that Pulsations DNA, Battlestar Kalakala.

With the success of West Seattle Soul, Tom Langen and Parliament Tavern engaged B Dahlia Presents to grow the venue’s social media presence and publicity, which saw significant success over 2018-2020. Mr. Dahlia has also worked with a spectrum of Seattle artists and agents of change on showcases ranging from album release shows to benefit concerts to campaign events, including: JR Rhodes, Paul Benoit, Johnny & the Moles, Hurricane Harvey Relief, former Seattle City Council Member Nick Licata, and former Seattle D1 Council Member Lisa Herbold, including Herbold’s 2019 Campaign Kickoff.

A versatile professional, B Dahlia has worn many hats in the field and in the production office. In 2013, he was Music Supervisor on the Seattle hip hop documentary The Otherside (Dir. Dan Torok, Prod. JR Celski, Vinny Dom) featuring Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Sir Mixalot, Common Market, Jake One, Grynch, Larry Mizell, Jr., and many other stalwarts of the Seattle DJ, rap and hip hop scene. In the same year, he joined the team working on the Initiative-502 documentary Evergreen: The Road To Legalization In Washington State (Dir. Riley Morton, Prod. Nils Cowan) as an Associate Producer and Audio Technician.

Mr. Dahlia established a reputation for quality and attention to detail as Production Manager and Associate Producer of Paradigm Studio’s critically acclaimed feature film and four‐part documentary series Icons Among Us®: jazz in the present tense.  In 2013 he directed the design and implementation of the Icons Among Us: Living Archive project – an online portal that delved into the depths of interviews and performances filmed in the making of the documentary.

Mr. Dahlia has been active in the NW community, volunteering for organizations like KEXP and SIFF.  He has been a professional stagehand, and has worked load in, show call, and load out for talent ranging from Rammstein to Macklemore, Sissy Spacek to Sir Paul McCartney. Up until the Covid pandemic, B Dahlia spent 4 years as the Lead Rental Agent for theatrical lighting supply and production company PNTA, where he coupled his film and music production knowledge with in-depth learning about stage and concert lighting and special effects (SFX) to aid a wide range of clients across the region.

ART AND CANNABINOIDS

As the community emerged from the Covid pandemic, Mr. Dahlia took a role with the West Seattle cannabis company Canna West in their health and wellness-oriented Culture Shop, where he spent two years growing his knowledge of cannabinoid medicinals and advising clients with a wide range is conditions and issues. He also curated a monthly rotating art show for both stores, featuring local artists working across a wide range of media and concept, until the closing of the Culture Shop.
